What you need to know about how a pilgrimage with Eremos Journeys is organised, before you decide to book.

Who organises a pilgrimage

Every pilgrimage on this site is organised by Eremos Journeys Ltd, a company limited by guarantee, Companies House number 16845661. It is a company, not a charity: the Charity Commission has not added Eremos Journeys Ltd to its register.

Why booking needs approval

Eremos Journeys pilgrimages are organised for a limited group of travellers connected to Eremos Journeys, rather than sold as an open, walk-up public offer. In practice this means a booking can only ever be placed once an account has been approved by a trustee — nobody can pay for a place without that step. This is a deliberate choice about how our pilgrimages are organised, not a hurdle put in your way for its own sake.

What's included, and what isn't

Each pilgrimage's own page will set out, in full, exactly what the price covers — typically accommodation, coach travel between sites, guiding and site entries — and what it does not. Flights are never included in the price of a pilgrimage.

Booking your own flights

You book and pay for your own flights, directly with an airline or travel agent of your choice. We do this deliberately: it keeps Eremos Journeys out of the flight-package rules (ATOL) that apply to organisations selling flights as part of a package, and it means you are never dependent on us for that part of your journey. We will tell you which airport and what arrival window to book into.

Deposit and payment plan

Securing a place is designed to work by paying a deposit, then the balance either in full or spread over several months as a payment plan, ahead of a cut-off date before the pilgrimage departs. The exact deposit amount, plan lengths and cut-off date for a pilgrimage will be published on that pilgrimage's own page once booking opens. A payment plan of this kind carries no interest and no fees — it is a payment plan, never credit or finance.

Cancellation

Cancellation and refund terms for a pilgrimage will be shown to you in full before you pay anything, and recorded against your booking once you have one. Those terms have not yet been finalised — this page will carry them in full once booking opens, rather than a promise made before the detail exists.

Booking is not open yet

Nobody can book a place on a pilgrimage through this site today. This page describes how booking is designed to work once it opens, so you know what to expect. It will be replaced with the complete, binding pre-contract information the law may require before any payment is taken.
